A fantastic article that was written by Jon Savage for the Guardian was published yesterday which deconstructs the meaning of The Queen Is Dead in relation to the on-going student protests.
The article can be found HERE and is a very interesting perspective on the influence of music in relation to politics but it does also go into good detail about the timeless album. Following on from my last post it does relate what Johnny Marr and Morrissey have been talking about in the news as well as highlighting the current issues with the students and addressing the similarities of when the album was released to present day.
For me this is what music is all about and is what makes The Smiths such an iconic band as their meanings are still completely relevant even twenty four years since the release of this amazing album.
A brilliant article and very well written, definitely worth the read.
